kiltfanA quiet day so far. Took Rach to get her hair cut this morning, then to a friend's house for a birthday party.
I am kidless for 4 hours!
I took the long way home to stop by our favorite chinese restaurant and pick up a take-out menu. The owner/head chef was at the front desk when I came in and made me a special menu for our supper tonight. All I have to do is call it in when I'm ready.
He suggested their signature strawberry chicken (which I've been wanting to try), fresh green bean and asparagus chicken chow mein, a lightly curried squid/calamari dish and their own specialty fried rice. Yummy! He also suggested the crab puffs and chicken potstickers. I may switch the rice to their also excellent bbq pork fried rice and eliminate the curry dish in favor of fried prawns, but I'm not sure yet.
We love this restaurant because of their dedication to fresh ingredients, lack of msg and the kind of personalized service I got today. Mr. Kwan will often be found walking from table to table, making sure everything is just right. If anybody wants to come to Salem I'll be happy to take you out to my favorite place.
