I'm an over-50 mom of one. Married more than 30 years to a great guy and a great dad. We have one child, our beautiful daughter.
I love the Sims 3, and am completely hooked on the game.
I love to read great big books, I'm open-minded, fairly witty and enjoy the company of all types of people. I worked in retail for 17 years, but have made the decision to be a stay-at-home Mom for now. I live in one of the country's most beautiful places. I would like to travel more, but being a full-time caregiver pretty much means I'm broke all the time. Raising a girl means I may never have money to spend on me again...ever.
The friends I have made online are some of the most wonderful people I've ever known. I value those friendships and the diversity they've brought to my life. I keep my circle of friends fairly small, mainly because I just don't have much time to cultivate and maintain friendships right now and I want all my relationships to thrive.
This journal connects me to people I don't get to see often, but who are important to me, and allows me to safely vent and share details about my own life. If you think you'd like to get to know me a bit better, drop me a note. Most of my posts are friends-only, but a few have a much tighter filter, especially those that have to do with my daughter. I need to know people fairly well before I'll share much info. about her.
I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 1993 and am under the expert care of a wonderful rheumatologist. My current treatment includes Enbrel injections twice a week, Plaquenil and Voltaren. I'm doing very well at this time, but I realize that things can change in a heartbeat, the future is uncertain, and I am learning to be grateful for the times when life is easy.
Mostly my life is quite bland. I'm okay with that. I love my rut.:o)
